Stratocell

Stratocell, protective foam for packaging, is a brand name of Sealed Air and is an extremely flexible and stable foam with a closed-cell structure and a compact appearance, but whose cells are not connected to each other, resulting in a breathable material.

It is a perfect cost-effective alternative to heavier polyurethanes. Due to its strength-to-weight ratio, superior protection is easily achieved with less material and thus the additional benefits of lower transportation, fuel and storage costs.

Stratocell’s resilient cushioning properties allow it to achieve multi-drop performance without loss of performance.

The main properties of Stratocell are: can be reused several times before experiencing a degradation in its protective qualities, typically has a density of 30 kg/m3 optimal for providing high cushioning and protection, recovers shape after compression, chlorofluorocarbon free, cushioning, acoustic absorbing. shock/shock/vibration absorbing, flexible, dimensionally stable, durable, uniform cell structure, floats, tear and wear resistant, odorless, lightweight, non-abrasive, resistant to chemicals, bacteria, grease, oil and solvents.

STRATOCELL IS USED FOR…

Stratocell is highly recommended for packaging, ideal for packaging applications requiring interior cushioning protection.

As a flexible, shock-absorbing foam, it is often used to create cushioning for packaging of delicate items such as televisions, glass, computers, printers and so on.

Foam can be formed into semi-finished products such as pipes, profiles, blocks and sheets.

THERE ARE THREE DIFFERENT TYPES:

Stratocell Low density: cost-effective cushioning protection for lighter products. Its exceptionally high strength-to-weight ratio reduces packaging size and costs, typically a box by providing superior protection with less material than many alternative packaging methods.

Stratocell Medium Density: Provides cushioning protection against repeated shocks, comparable to conventional extruded sheet, but with a softer surface that is more easily fabricated and heat bonded without breaking.

Stratocell Plus: Stratocell Plus foam laminates provide exceptional protection for a wide range of packaging applications where additional strength is needed. Provides all the proven benefits of our laminated board, plus the added strength and durability of film or foam backing.
