Scudo Flex side protections for panels
Description of Scudo Flex side protections for panels
The Scudo Flex side protection is a U-shaped piece where the wings provide a perfect grip on the board, while the base, formed by layers of cardboard, protects the side of the panels.
Scudo Flex is the latest evolution in the Scudo range of protective elements, made entirely from cardboard and paper sheets.
By means of layers of cardboard or paper that have been treated to obtain a lattice, we obtain an edge protection of a certain thickness, which can be extended for total protection.
Benefits of Scudo Flex side protection for panels
The main benefits that make Scudo Flex side protection for panels stand out as the most sustainable solution are as follows:
- Facilitates packaging, since a single reference serves for various thicknesses.
- It allows grouping several boards without reducing the perimeter protection.
- It is manufactured with a single product, paper and cardboard, facilitating recycling.
- Reduces packaging stock.
Properties of Scudo Flex side protections for panels
The Scudo Flex side protection fits perfectly to the edge of the product, offering a very high resistance to impact.
Scudo Flex consists of multiple layers of interwoven paper, which has a high resistance of about 10 kg/square centimeter. Thus, depending on how much we extend the protection, we are going to obtain a cell with a greater or lesser resistance.
If we want a higher resistance, we will need to add more layers of paper to make the cell smaller and more compact. On the other hand, if we are looking for a lower resistance, we will be able to extend it to the maximum, beyond its original size, which will result in a larger protection area although with a lower resistance capacity.
We could compare it to a sandwich, since it is composed of two outer layers of rigid cardboard and a layer of flexible paper in the middle. By stretching it more, we will lose energy absorption capacity, while stretching it less, we will increase its resistance. Based on this, there are different configuration options.
The protection range allows to protect boards with an effective thickness of 1 cm to 10 cm, which significantly reduces the space required for storage, simplifies logistics and considerably reduces the costs associated with the transportation and handling of the product.
Applications of Scudo Flex side protection for panels
Scudo Flex is suitable for many sectors. Like Scudo, this product is ideal for the furniture sector (flat pieces, modules, furniture kits), thanks to its adaptable corner pieces that can be adjusted, with a single reference, to various thicknesses.
This innovative generation of Scudo also finds application in sectors such as glass, automotive or e-commerce. A single piece adapts to various shapes and is stretchable in multiple directions, making it easy to protect irregularly shaped products. This ranges from lamps to automotive parts and even bottles.
At Brafim, we stand out for the manufacture of cardboard packaging. Not only do we focus on providing high quality solutions, but we also have a strong commitment to preserving the environment.
Our product catalog includes a wide variety of eco-friendly packaging options that are made from recyclable and biodegradable materials. In addition, we offer sustainable packaging solutions that promote the circular economy, using renewable resources and efficient production processes.
