PLASTAZOTE
Plastazote is a brand of the company Zotefoams and is a closed-cell cross-linked polyethylene foam that comes in sheet form and is manufactured using a unique pressurized nitrogen injection process. Manufactured in a wide variety of polymer combinations to provide increased stiffness, higher temperature resistance and improved plasticity.
Plastazote foams are designed to offer superior performance and lighter weight. The absence of chemical agents in the foam and the consistency of the cell structure and density allow Zotefoams to offer the lightest cross-linked foams in the world.
This pure, chemically inert, stable and safe high density foam has a uniform structure in terms of color, density and grain size.
Type nomenclature indicates the type of polymer: LD… low density polyethylene; HD… high density polyethylene, HL… blend of high and low density polyethylene.
properties of plastazote
The main properties of Plastazote are: it can be easily molded, cut and bonded to other materials; non-toxic, odorless, does not absorb water and is buoyant; it can be washed, disinfected and cleaned; excellent chemical resistance to most oils, solvents, acids and alkalis; weather resistant and has good ultraviolet stability; durable, tough and flexible and recovers repeatedly from impacts; very good thermal insulator.
Add also that the material is thermoformable in both simple and complex shapes. It does not contain any CFCs or HCFCs or plasticizers.
It has a temperature range 105/-70 ºC, tear strength: 1150 N/m (Test: ISO 8067), tensile strength: 560 kPa (Test: ISO 7214), a density range of 15 kg/m3 to 115 kg/m3, and metallocene grades for easier thermoforming behavior.
It is offered in a variety of attractive colors (white, black, blue, violet, red, gold, green, etc.).
PLASTAZOTE IS USED FOR…
Plastazote is highly recommended for crate lining, display stands, presentation boxes, packaging, tool storage, insulation, recreational use, artwork transport, display case lining, shelving, etc. and custom crate lining.
Plastazote foams are used in a variety of industries, including: packaging, automotive (thermoformed parts), aerospace, electronics, healthcare due to their inert qualities, construction, sports (protective padding), marine where buoyancy is crucial, industrial (seals and gaskets).
